This training course is an introduction to the
Project Cycle Management (PCM) concept. PCM is a holistic approach,
covering all stages of project management. Starting from identification
leading to conceptualisation, to planning and implementation and finally
to evaluation. It is a structured, systematic and logical step by step approach
for program/project planning, based on an extensive situation analysis.

The main characteristics of the PCM approach are:
=> Participative procedures involving the key holders in planning and decision making.
=> Constant visualisation of the process with the ‘card and chart ‘ technique.

After the training you will:

 Understand the concept of PCM and the process character of project cycle management;

 Master the basic analytical planning steps and major related work-tools;

 Have applied the basic PCM principles, phases, steps and tools to a case study and
their projects / field of work.

 Have a clearer understanding of the roles and functions of the cooperating partners
in technical cooperation and of the flexible application of methods and instruments.

The Training Concept

The focus of this training workshop lies in the transfer of planning & management
skills with a strong emphasis on action learning. This workshop will be conducted
in small working groups, in-house course or at location of your own convenience,
not exceeding 15 participants, over a period of 3 – 5 days (depending on your specific needs).
